Serial entrepreneur Eugene Lisovskiy launched Level Up Basket in New York in January 2020. This mobile app will help 450 million basketball players through gamification, coaching and community. Think Strava for basketball. From early traction, product development has been at lightspeed and the the business has grown with consumers, clubs and businesses.
Goal
Eugene originally launched an MVP to test product market fit and user reaction. Armed with data and a plan for expansion, he needed to build quickly to take the product to the next level.
Problem
This would require a whole new team to join the business. He didn’t have the time to search the market, filter resumes, vet people for their skills. He knew it would be impossible to find people in his region and couldn’t commit to the employer obligations of hiring permanently. He also had concerns about the ability to manage a remote team if he hired globally.
Why they chose Skipp
Eugene worked with our Talent Acquisition Team to build a profile of what Level Up needed. They designed a team structure that would be led by a Project Manager. Together they created clear job descriptions, ideal candidate profiles and the project roadmap. They hired a remote team, built the next evolution of Level Up and user engagement has skyrocketed.
